Wow! That is a huge accomplishment. Are you putting anything other than the yew hedge in the cleared space or putting down sod or grass seed?
Hope the neighbors keep their already-known opinion to themselves. I think it looks great!
Well, there's short term and long term goals. Long term, I want to do an undulating 5 to 20 foot wide border of shrubs and flowers with the solid green backdrop of the yews - very UK/Irish in it's look. Short term though, I've got other priorities, so it's going to be lawn for now.
